September Recap
Thanks Advent Families ... our first-annual Costume Sale Fundraiser was a success! Our two-day sale last month produced $250 (so far!) in pure profit for the school, which will be used by the APA for projects and events this year. Approximately two dozen costumes were not sold during our fundraiser, but they will be consigned at Tallahassee's One Week Boutique, in hopes of raising additional funds for our school. Thank you to the families who donated and/or purchased costumes, and to the volunteers who helped with the sale! We can’t wait to see some of those adorable costumes circling the courtyard at the Halloween Parade later this month! A huge Thank You to Mandy Schnittker for creating and producing this wonderful fundraiser!

Grandbuddies’ Day
Grandbuddies’ Day is approaching quickly, October 7th or October 8th beginning at 8:15 am.
Just as a reminder, Nicole Myhre will be available to take pictures of your child(ren) and their Grandbuddies during both of the Grandbuddies' Breakfasts from ~8:15-9:15am. And Barefoot Books will be for sale for both dedication to the new library, Grandbuddies’ Corner, and for your home use. This will be a wonderful event.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands is now up and running!!! Participation with this project is a wonderful way for us to give back to our teachers by assisting them with projects that are needed for their classes! The Helping Hands Project is located two doors down from Ms. Jan’s music room (enter through the door to the left of the activities room door) and directions are posted in the room to assist you in finding and completing the teachers’ projects. School Directory
The school directory will be out within the next two weeks; a big thank you to Ms. Sandy for all her assistance in creating the directory this year. If you do not wish for your information to be in the directory, please complete an opt out form located in both the school and church offices.
Brick Sales
Advent bricks are back! Leave a mark on the school by ordering a beautiful engraved brick, commemorating your child's years at Advent. The deadline for ordering bricks is not until March, but we want to make you aware that Grandbuddies attending this week's event will be given information about the brick campaign. This could be a fabulous Christmas present for your child from their grandparent! Brick ordering information will be distributed school wide in early 2011; in the meantime please visit this APA blog for additional information and to download ordering forms. Make plans to purchase a brick this holiday season or for your child's birthday, but definitely before the 2010/11 school year comes to a close. Advent will not order bricks again until spring 2013!
Box Tops/Labels for Education
Please remember to keep clipping those Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels for Education to turn into the school office. These small labels bring in great things for our school! Unfortunately, we are going to stop collecting the Capri Suns labels at this time. Thank you.
Advent School Corner
Advent Parish Day School’s 2010 Silent Auction is just around the corner. This is the school’s primary fundraiser, raising over $30,000 last year but we need your help. Please keep those procured items coming in, help out by becoming a sponsor, and make plans to attend this wonderful event on Friday, November 12th! Tickets are now on sale in the school office!
Announcements
“Advent” car magnets will be available soon for purchase. The cost will be $5 per magnet…what a great way to show your Advent pride and advertise our wonderful school around town!
