Looking to Make Your Preschoolers Lunch More Healthy?

One of Advent's moms, Stephanie, has a wonderful website/blog with great ideas on how to keep healthy items on your child and family's plate.

Recently she added a post all about making school lunches healthier.

Here are some tips she shares:

*Make lunches in bulk twice a week.
*Use leftovers
*How to use fruits and veggies and how to make them more enticing for the littles to eat by adding dips like hummus, guacamole, almond butter
*Suggestions on how to get a diverse amount of proteins in their lunch box
For example: chili, sliced meat, cubed chiken breast, steak fajitas, hard boiled eggs, slices of cheese, yogurt, hotdogs, bacon, sausage, fried egg or quiche, canned tuna or salmon, beef jerky, and mini hamburger patties just to name a few
*Alternatives to sweets
*Using plastic or stainless steel Bento boxes to store foods like these found here:
