Havana Nights- Advent's Silent Auction

This year's Silent Auction committee did a phenomenal job! There were over 225 people in attendance, 130 items to bid on, delicious food catered by Gordo's and awesome entertainment by the band Facing Quincy!

Here are some pictures of the event:

Gordo's had quite the spread: roasted pork, grilled chicken, black beans and rice, maduros, media noches, croquettas, mini papa rellenas, salad and bread.

This event wouldn't have been possible without our amazing sponsors who combined donated $12,000 to Advent Day School. Thank you!

The auction was a huge success and had a plethora of items to bid on. The class baskets were overflowing with cuteness too! Thank you parents!

Facing Quincy, the band, provided excellent entertainment for the evening. They had a diverse selection of songs and were fun to listen to, especially by the bonfire!

The committee didn't miss any details. The outdoor centerpieces were perfect! Thanks to all of the lovely ladies for all of your hard work: Taryn Adams, Elizabeth Oscar, Alison Thomas, Julie Draper, Terrie Ard, Kathy Walsh, Laurie Hartsfield, Tijen Owings, Michelle Bender, Meredith Wilson, Kate Pararo, Sarah Hickman, Khanty Xayabouth, Laura Block, Ramsey Safley, Meghan Brown, Stephanie Brandt Love, Cristene York, Sandy Stefanik, Lauren Byrd, Nicole McCrae, and Tricia Montgomery.

This year also marks Advent's director's, Cristene York, 30th year at Advent Day School! We had been bringing her lunch, breakfast, flowers, and small gifts for thirty days leading up to the Auction. Then on the Auction night the APA surprised her with a gift card from donations from our parents!! She was so surprised. :)

Thank you again to the sponsors, the committee, and the parents who attended and donated for making this event so wonderful. Advent will be able to use the money to continue to make our school an even better place for developing our children's social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth in a loving Christian environment.
