This past week, Advent's social chairs put on another Brown Bag Buddy playdate, Pete the Cat themed. There were a lot of fun activities planned and the children had a blast!
The playdate was centered around the book Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.
One of the activities the children could choose from was to make a button bracelet.
The children used pipe cleaners and oversized buttons to make these. They could thread them through one whole and pull or through one and out the other to make the button lay flat. This was a great activity to help strengthen their fine motor skills. The kids were really creative and made some great bracelets!

Another activity was putting "button stickers" on a coloring sheet of Pete the cat.
The last activity was a special treat. The children could ice and decorate a cookie like a button.
It was great to see moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and friends come out to have lunch and play together!
After the book was read, the children were able to choose which activity they would like to do and then make their rounds to do all three.
Cookie making was definitely a big hit!
